Storm Warning Issued for Meigs County for Feb. 5
MEIGS COUNTY – The National Weather Service in Charleston, West Virginia has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Meigs County until 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5.
The Winter Storm Warning is for freezing rain and sleet. The freezing rain and sleet should coat the area with a quarter to a half inch of ice. Snow and sleet mix is expected to follow overnight with the possibility of up to two inches of snow in addition to the coating of ice.
Weather conditions are expected to be prime for creating hazardous travel. The winds will be blowing out of the East 10 to 20 mph. Temperatures will be in the upper 20′s to lower 30′s. Road conditions are expected to slick, especially on untreated roads. The warning encompasses Southeast Ohio as well.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of sleep and ice are expected or occurring. Additionally, strong winds are also possible. Travel will be very hazardous or impossible in some areas.
