Hildreth Cornelia ‘Boots’ Williams, 85

Hildreth Williams obit picture 001Hildreth Cornelia ‘Boots’ Williams, age 85, of Gallipolis, died peacefully Thursday morning February 6, 2014 at her residence. Born May 10, 1928 in Gallia County. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Geneva Brumfield Day. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband, Ralph Edward Williams, who she married on March 8, 1947 and he preceded her on August 8, 1991, and by 4 sisters, Louise Daniels, Luella Raike, Irene Unroe, and Charlotte Day.

‘Boots’ was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting for many families through the years.

She is survived by 2 sons, David (Cheryl) Williams of Crown City, and Keith (Jeannie) Williams of Gallipolis, 2 daughters, Jeanie Lawhon of Gallipolis, and Denise (John) Saunders of Gallipolis. 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also surviving is 1 sister, Delma (Gene) Brown of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Sunday February 9, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Mark Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-7 PM.

Pallbearers will be, David Allen Williams, Eric Clary, Chris Williams, Josh Williams, Johnny Saunders, Shawn Saunders, Nick Cain and Bobby Unroe.

A reception will follow the interment at the Crown City Community Church fellowship hall, where food can be delivered after noon on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American heart Association.
