Meigs Polar Puppy Plunge Set for Saturday
POMEROY – Area residents with a keen eye on the needs of the dogs at the county shelter will be taking the plunge at 2 p.m. at the Pomeroy Levee.
Dubbed the Meigs Polar Puppy Plunge, the event is a polar bear plunge. Participants have been working to gain pledges or sponsors for them as they will jump into the icy Ohio River waters.
According to organizer Rich Wamsley, “Nothing like brave people taking the plunge into the fridged Ohio River with an end result of 100 percent financial donation going to the Meigs County Dog Shelter.”
Wamsley said that people are welcome to stop by and donations will also be accepted.
