Robert “Bob” Dayton Reiber, 91
Robert “Bob” Dayton Reiber, 91, passed away on March 7, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 16, 1922 in Letart, Ohio to the late Castine and Della “Davis” Reiber. He served in World War II with the United States Coast Guard. He retired from Kaiser aluminum after 23 years of service. Bob was a faithful member of the Forest Run United Methodist Church. He also enjoyed his wood working shop and playing euchre. He was a member of the Tuppers Plains VFW post 9053 and DAV.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years Wilma, sons, Randy (Frances) Reiber, Racine, OH, and Terry (Judy) Reiber, Reedsville, OH; grandchildren, Rachel Perdew, Pataskala, OH, Vince (Tonia) Reiber, Racine, OH, Jessica Reiber, Palatka, FL, Robert (Amy) Reiber, Wellston, OH, and Russell Reiber, Racine, OH; 5 great grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Special “daughter” Phyllis (Harry) Parker and “son” Dick Gross.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Sayre, Margaret Johnson, Ruth Sayre, Cora Wright and brothers, George, Eber and Fred Reiber.
A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Carmel Cemetery, on Carmel Road, near Racine with Pastor Wesley Thoene officiating.
Military graveside rites will be presented by the VFW and American Legion.
