Sharolette Mathias Goody Benson, 80

Sharolette Mathias Goody Benson, 80, of Bidwell, a faithful servant of God has been called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Holzer Assisted Living.

She was born July 12, 1933 in Pt. Pleasant, WV, daughter of the late Wilbert and Laura Mathias. Sharolette retired from Federal Mogul in 1995. She was a member of Potter’s Wheel Pentecostal Church of First Avenue. She loved the Lord.

She married Paul J. Goody in February, 1950 and from this union she was blessed with three sons and one daughter, Jim (Karen) Goody of Rodney, Steve (Debbie) Goody of Gallipolis, Jane (Darrell) McFann of Kerr, Ken Goody of New York; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Frances Auville of Petersburg, WV.

Also, she married Elder Ray Benson in August of 1983, who preceded her in death in 2005. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond “Bill” Mathias and Wilbur Mathias in infancy and one sister, Martha Bosley.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Elder Steve Nibert and Elder Sherman Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jimi Goody, Kenny Goody, David Thaker, Casey Neal, Casey Staten and Mike Dickerson.
