Quentin R. Lane, 95
Quentin R. Lane, 95, Gallipolis, passed away at 1:15 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2014, in the Holzer Asisted Living Center. Born May 6, 1918 in Addison Township of Gallia County he was the son of the late Alex and Victoria Cook Lane. He was retired after 30 years of service as a trolley operator and bus driver for the Transit Motor of Southeast Louisiana (T.M.S.E.L.) in New Orleans. Quentin resided in Louisiana from 1942-1980. He was a member of the French City Baptist Church and attended the Elizabeth Chapel Church. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II serving from 1941-1945. Prior to entering the Army, Quentin was in a 3C Camp in Montana in 1939. Quentin married Theresa Lund on November 3, 1942 and she preceded him in death on January 20, 1984. He later married Mary Burnette on January 10, 1988 and she preceded him in death on July 6, 1997. Surviving are his step-children, Tammy (Larry) Keller, Bidwell, Timothy (Debi) Burnette, Gallipolis, Teresa (Chuck) Abbott, Crown City and Kathryn Elmore, Gallipolis, step-grandchildren, Christopher Keller, Megan Burnette, Brandon Burnette, Ben Elmore, Luke Elmore, Kyle Abbott and Katrina Abbott, step great-grandchildren, Brayden Kalinowski and Cayne Keller, sister-in-law, Mary Lane, Aurora, Colorado and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and two wives, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Thomas Brent Burnette, sisters, Beulah Jane Hook, Alpha Sigler, Grace Lemley, Virginia Courtney and Esther Coons and brothers, Alva Bud Lane and Homer H. Lane.
Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2014, in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Randy Carnes. Interment will be in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5 – 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service Funeral Detail Team and the West Virginia National Guard Funeral Detail Unit.
