image001(2)Retha Mae Parcell, 84, of Gallipolis, OH, went home to be with the lord, May 8, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, OH.

She was born February 2, 1930 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late William Lester Haner and Nora Faye Myers Haner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman N. Parcell, two grandchildren and one sister, Beva Hardy.

Retha was a homemaker and a graduate of Waterloo High School, class of 1948. She attended Dickey Chapel, and in her spare time enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by four daughters, Debra Cook of Vinton, Ohio, LaNora (Doug) Duty of Gallipolis, Ohio, Connie (Ronny) Burns of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Rita (Wayne McGuire) Parcell of Gallipolis and three sons, Herman “Ed” (Linda) Parcell of Patriot, Ohio, Donald A (Patricia) Parcell of Spring Valley, Ohio, Ronald K (Darlene) Parcell of Cheshire, Ohio. Also surviving are a sister Norma (Manford) Jeffers of Gallipolis, Ohio, and a brother Marlyn L. Haner of Gallipolis, Ohio, along with 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren on the way.

Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Truman Johnson officiating and her grandson’s will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at Willis Funeral Home from 6-8pm Monday, May 12, 2014.
