Dr. Christopher Recognized through Super Doc Program

Holzer has recently initiated a program to recognize outstanding physicians within our health system. Patient feedback is gathered at each location regarding the service our physicians are providing for the communities. Patients and family members are encouraged to submit feedback on their physicians and the type of care they are receiving. In addition, one physician will be selected who meets standards for quality, care, service, stewardship, teamwork, and provides a helpful and caring attitude.

For Spring Quarter 2014, Mark Christopher, MD, Holzer Gastroenterologist, has been selected as the first winner of the award.

Dr. Christopher joined Holzer in 1984, following his gastroenterology fellowship in St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, New York. He is a member of the American Medical Association, The Ohio State Medical Association, and the Gallia County Medical Society. In addition, Dr. Christopher earned certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.

One submitted comment included that Dr. Christopher checked on a patient in the hospital three times a day for over a week. She really appreciated that he was so conscientious and cautious with her care, and that he explained everything to her family so well. He was even there quickly when late night problems arose. “He is a great doctor and a huge asset to Holzer,” she commented.
