Obit CandleRalph A. Barcus, 73, Gallipolis, passed away at 5:01 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2014, in the Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Born May 6, 1941 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Clarence C. and Florilla Mae Plymale Barcus. Ralph was a retired union carpenter from Carpenter’s Local # 14614, Charleston, W. Va. He was a member of the Addison Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Cathy I Stephens Barcus, sons, Allen (Crystal) Barcus, Jacksonville, Florida, Randall (Gina) Poland, Wellston, OH, Robert (Christina) Poland, Kingman, Arizona and a daughter, Lisa (Kenny) Oliver, Greensburg, Indiana, Eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, sisters, Lola Richards, Springfield, Virginia, Kathryn Costen, Gallipolis, Rebecca Unroe, Gallipolis, Ernestine Mooney, Gallipolis, Addie (William) Jewell, Columbus, OH, Ina Belle Sibley, Gallipolis, brother, Ray Barcus, Bidwell, brothers-in-law, Willard L. Keesee, Patriot, Daryl (Sandy) Stephens, Gallia, OH, Thomas Stephens, Gallia, Russell (Mary) Stephens, South Webster, OH and Craig (Susan) Stephens, Covington, Kentucky. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and special friends, David and Rachel Phillips, Gallipolis, Gerald and Nettie Ann Warren, Gallipolis and Wayne and Sally Caully, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Renauta Michelle Barcus, and two sisters, Opal L. Halfhill and Donna Faye Keesee.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Addison Freewill Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Rick Barcus and Rev. Jack Parsons. Interment will be in the Mina Cemetery in Green Township. Friends may call from 5 – 8 P.M. Thursday at the church. Nephews will serve as active casket bearers. Funeral services are entrusted to the Cremeens Funeral Chapel.
