Obit CandleChander Kanta Verma, 72, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. The daughter of the late Ghanshyam Das and Vishan Devi (Bhugra) Narang, she was born August 7, 1941 in Khanewal, India. Chander attended Bharatiya Hindu Temple, Columbus, Ohio and enjoyed long walks through Gallipolis. Though separated from her family in India, she always kept in touch with them by phone as well as keeping in touch with her culture by watching Indian Television programs. As a loving mother and grandmother, she was very faithful to her culture and religion and led by example by teaching her family good health practices.

Chander is survived by her husband, Amar Nath Verma, Gallipolis; sons, Omesh (Shama) Verma, Victoria, Texas and Sandeep (Shefali) Grover, Perth, Australia; daughter, Sunita (Ashok) Dayal, Gallipolis; grandchildren: Kamal, Natasha, Manisha, Pooja, Akshay, Sonali and Arjun as well as one brother and two sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Private Hindu Worship services will be conducted at the convenience of the family with Hindu Priest Prakash Pandya officiating. Cremation services will follow. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, is honored to serve the Verma Family.
