Rumpke Celebrates National Garbage Man Day
Wellston, Ohio — Early mornings, long days and extreme weather are just a few of the challenges waste and recycling truck drivers face on a daily basis. This week, Rumpke celebrated National Garbage Man Day to thank the men and women who keep our neighborhoods clean and green.
An employee cookout took place at Rumpke’s Wellston and Waverly facilities on Tuesday.
“Our employees work hard to provide an essential service to the community,” said Regional Vice President Andrew Rumpke. “It’s a tough job, and we want to show our appreciation.”
National Garbage Man Day began in 2013 to raise awareness for sanitation industry workers.
Rumpke employs approximately 156 people at its Wellston and Waverly locations. Company-wide, Rumpke employs more than 2,600 people and more than 1,000 drivers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Available jobs are posted on www.rumpke.com.
