Anna Mae Barnes, 81

Anna Mae Barnes, age 81, of Middleport, died Saturday morning June 21, 2014 at the Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport. Born March 8, 1933 in Johnson County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late John and Frankie Blanton Arms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by 2 husbands, Virgil Davis and Ronald Barnes, by a son Jack Barnes, daughter, Hazel Barnes, and by 2 sisters, Mary Dempsey and June Conn.

Anna was a retired Nurse’s Aide and a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Anna is survived by 9 children, Les (Mary) Davis of Bidwell, Donald (Debbie) Barnes of Gallipolis, Kenneth (Linda) Barnes of Roanoke, VA., James Barnes of Cincinnati, Joyce Ward of Bidwell, Tina Barnes of Bidwell, John (Kim) Barnes of Rutland, James Archer (Maria) Leamond of Pomeroy and William LeMasters of Racine; 3 Step Children, Ronald Barnes of Crown City, William Barnes of Crown City, and Donna Tater of Sharon Center, OH; 19 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren; 1 Brother, Junior Arms of Cleveland, and 1 Sister, Molly McGuire of Paintsville, KY.

Private services will be held Monday June 23, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, with Rev. Ralph Workman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery.
