Holzer Expresses Appreciation to Local Fire Departments

IMG_2852Holzer Health System would like to extend appreciation to the following fire departments who assisted the organization during the Gallipolis water situation: Flat Rock Fire Department, Gallipolis Volunteer Fire Department, Harrison Township Fire Department, Madison Jefferson Joint Fire District, Point Pleasant Fire Department, Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Department, and Springfield Township Fire Department. All of these Fire Departments have worked tirelessly throughout the year and we most certainly owe them a great deal of gratitude for the service they continue to provide. The work that goes on behind the scenes is remarkable especially when you consider that so many departments are still not being provided with adequate software to help make their worker’s lives easier. Implementing ems software might provide the solution to this problem in the future.

From June 3 to June 6, these fire departments shuttled 427,150 gallons of water, traveling approximately 1837 miles during the donation period. In recognition of their efforts, Holzer representatives will be visiting each fire department to present a check of $1000. Shown pictured is the donation made to the Gallipolis Volunteer Fire Department on Tuesday, July 8, left to right: Brent Saunders, Chairman of the Board, Holzer Health System, Keith A. Elliott, Fire Chief, Gallipolis Volunteer Fire Department, and T. Wayne Munro, MD, CEO, Holzer Health System.

Without the support and dedication provided to Holzer, the facility would have been in jeopardy of closing. If that would have occurred, Holzer would have been required to have many agencies survey and certify our services to be reopened, which can be a lengthy process. The staff of Holzer wishes to express our sincere thanks for the support of our communities.
