Obit CandleEdna L. Wolfe Knopp, 96, of Racine, Ohio passed away on August 2, 2014 in the Cedar Grove Assisted Living, Parkersburg, West Virginia. Born September 23, 1917 she is the daughter of the late Clarence “Harry” and Sadie Beegle Wolfe. Edna retired from being a case worker for the Community Action Agency and she also worked on her dairy farm. She was a member of the Dorcus United Methodist Church where she was a charter member of the Son Shine Circle, and she was also a member of the Racine American Legion Post #602 Ladies Auxiliary for over fifty years.
Edna is survived by her son, Max L. (Nancy Circle) of Auburndale, Florida, and a daughter, Lois (Carl) Eaton, of Parkersburg, WV., her grandsons, Matthew (Patti) Sterrett, Michael (Clare) Sterrett, Max (Nancy) Sterett, Aaron (Dawn) Knopp, and Brian Knopp. Great-grandchildren, Dustin Sterrett, Benjamin Sterrett, Joshua Sterrett, Madalyn Kate (Daniel) Lynch, Sara Johnston, and Sadie Kathryn Sterrett, a sister, Edith Grim of Syracuse, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents Edna, is preceded in death by her husband Otis F. Knopp, whom she married on September 24, 1940 in Wilmington, Ohio and he preceded her on January 11, 1998, a brother, Albert Wolfe, and a son-in-law, Dick Sterrett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine. Pastor Dewayne Stutler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Grandsons Matthew, Michael, Max, Aaron and Brian, and great-grandson Benjamin will serve as casketbeares. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Edna’s honor to the Cedar Grove Assisted Living, 100 Nicolette Rd., Parkersburg West Virginia, 26104.
