Meigs County Comissoners Meeting
The Meigs County Commissioners met once again for their weekly meeting at the Pomeroy Courthouse on July 31, 2014. The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and a silent prayer, followed by the approval of the previous week’s minutes and bills, which totaled $8,260.05 for the County General and $335,908.10 altogether.
The next order of business was the approval of three Appropriation Adjustments, with $400.00 moving from M051-M02 into M051-M04, $1,000.00 moving from M051-03 into M051-06, and $225.00 moving from M051-M05 into M051-04.
Next the Rutland Clearance Project bids were opened, with the bids being $29, 895 from Sexton’s Excavating, out of Jackson, OH, $24,575 from AMS Inc. Construction Group, out of Cincinnati, OH, $34,000 from Karr Contracting, Inc., out of Chester, OH, and $33, 879 from Pullins Excavating, Inc., out of Pomeroy, OH. The bids were referred to Denise Alkire and will be awarded after she looks over them.
The GSTS Bid for Septic Tank Installment was awarded to Ron Evans Enterprises, LLC, in the amount of $15,750.00. Two resolutions were approved concerning the Round 29 bid which has been debated over the previous weeks, where all previous bids will be rejected and the project will be re-bid. The Bituminous Bid quote was referred to County Engineer Gene Triplett, and after hearing from Director of the Meigs County Department of Jobs and Family Services, the commissioners recommended the hiring of Emily Hill as a social worker for the department. The meeting was then adjourned.
