William D. “Bill” Wells, 63

William D. “Bill” Wells, 63, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

He was born June 27, 1951 in Mason County, West Virginia, son of the late Donald Ray Wells Sr. and Nancy Maxine Gilbert Wells. Bill was married to Violet Lambert Wells on June 28, 1970 and she survives him. He was a 1970 Hannan Trace High School graduate. Bill was a union laborer from Local 83, Portsmouth, Ohio.

Surviving are his wife, Violet Wells of Gallipolis; a daughter, Stacie (Jamie) Davis of Patriot; a son, William J. (Randi) Wells of Thurman; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brandon), Nicole, Kaitlyn, Haiden, Achilles, Brantley, Taylah, Hailey; two sisters, Debbie L. (Roger) Dingey of Middleport and Ruth Greaves of Patriot; four brothers, Donald R. Wells Jr. of Patriot, Jeff (Cindy) Wells Sr. of Chester, Maxwell (Judy Kay) Wells of Patriot, Matthew G. (Debbie) Wells of Crown City; several nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Ray Wells Sr. in 1995 and Nancy Maxine Gilbert Wells in August 22, 2010.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Taylor officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, August 15, 2014 from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be William J. Wells, Jamie Davis, Brandon Valentine, Donald R. Wells Jr., Jeff Wells Sr., and Maxwell Wells. Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Wells.
