Obit CandleGuy Eugene Bing, Sr., 72, of Montross, Virginia, and formerly of Middleport, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, in Richmond Virginia. Born October 31, 1941 in the Bradbury community, he was the son of the late Guy Emile and Clyda Beach Bing. He served his county in U.S. Navy. He retired from the American Commercial Barge Lines where he worked on the Delta Queen as well as other boats as the a chief engineer .

He is survived by his wife Linda Smith Bing, of Montross, VA, whom he married on May 23, 1973 in Greenfield South Carolina, his daughters, Wendy Goodall, of Minnesota, Megan Bing, of Wellston, Oh., and Amber (Josh) Conklin, of Mt. Holly, Virginia, his sons Christopher (Wendy) Dorsey, of Georgia, Guy Eugene (Autumn) Bing, Jr., of Middleport, and Donald Bing, of Hartford, W.V., a step-daughter, Kim Smith, of Florida, and ten grandchildren. Two sister, Roberta (Lee) Wekelich, of Caldwell, Ohio, and Joyce Ash, of Pomeroy, a brother Ernie (Judy) Bing, of Racine, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two grandchildren, Candice Conklin, and Leveret Conklin.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home. Pastor David McManis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Middleport Hill Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Middleport Fenney Bennet Post 128 and the Racine Post 602 of the American Legion.
