Sherman Thompson, 80

Sherman Thompson, 80, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the VA Hospital, Chillicothe, Ohio. Born December 27, 1933 in Dunbar, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Earnest and Lena (Finney) Thompson. Sherman, a U.S. Navy Veteran, served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by three children: Diane Thompson, Gallipolis, Ohio; Charles (Denise) Thompson and Dan Thompson, both in California; sister, Helen Crabtree, Gallipolis, Ohio and brother, Glenn Thompson in Oklahoma.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Thompson.

Sherman’s family will receive friends Thursday, October 16 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis from the hours of 5:00-7:00 PM.

Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, October 17, 2014 in the Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio with Full Military Rites conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Services Organization.
