Betty Jean Clark Condee, 73

Betty Jean Clark Condee, age 73, of Gallipolis, died Friday afternoon October 24, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center. Born September 17, 1941 in West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Putney and the late Melvina ‘Vina’ Sisson Putney Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her step father, Grover Grant Johnson, her husband, Bob Condee, 2 sisters, Judy George, and Debbie Cordell, 1 brother, David Putney,1 step sister, Patricia Ann ‘Patty’ Hembre, 2 step brothers, Jackie Johnson, and Johnny Johnson, and grandson, Timmy Neville.

Betty retired from the US. Army Corp of Engineers, where she worked as an administrative assistant. She also cooked on the riverboats for many years. She attended Faith Valley Community Church.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Teresa Jeffers, of Ashville, Kim Johnson of Pt. Pleasant, and Tammy Clark of Crown City. 3 Grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda) Chapman, Reed (Danyelle) Sommerville, and Rand (Tracy) Clark. 6 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Step Great Grandchildren. 7 sisters, Mary Jackson of Pittsburgh, Linda Harrison of Gallipolis, Bob (Betty) Putney of Gallipolis, Shirley Cox of Gallipolis, Brena (Bob) Price of Cheshire, Janet (Dennis) Lambert of Pt. Pleasant, and Rita (Kevin) White of Crown City. 2 step brothers, Larry (Faye) Johnson of Gallipolis, and Terry (Tammy) Johnson of South Florida.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Wednesday October 29, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funral Home with Pastors, Junior Preston and Sam Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery in West Virginia. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 AM. until the time of service.In lieu of flowers, conributions can be made to Faith Valley Community Church.
