Jewell Brumfield, 86

Jewell Brumfield, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Holzer Assisted Living.

She was born June 14, 1928 in Holden, West Virginia, daughter of the late James and Delphia Farley Adkins. She married James Clifford Brumfield and he preceded her in death in November, 1984. Jewell was an LPN and retired supervisor at Gallipolis Developmental Center. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 50 years.

Surviving are her sister, Bobbie Roskie of Redmond, Washington; grandchildren, Milinda (Rick) Meaige, Angie (David) Long, both of Gallipolis, Natalie (Tim Rose of Florida, Narissa (Scott) Trigilio of Lima, Stephen Brumfield and Jewel (Gary) Withrow, both of Pomeroy, Dawna Brumfield (Andy Jones) of Mason, West Virginia and Michael Brumfield of Tennessee; 18 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, James Clifford Brumfield and her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Brumfield and Nelson Brumfield, a grandson James Brumfield, a great great granddaughter Lavina Michelle Shaffer, a brother Sylvord Adkins, and two sisters Wanda Mounts and Lettie Mae Brescoach.

Services will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 – 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
