Southern High School to Hold Veteran’s Day Assembly
RACINE – Southern High School will hold its traditional Veteran’s Day Assembly Monday, November 10 at the Southern Local Campus beginning at 9:30 a.m. Opening ceremonies will begin outside at the flagpole with dedications from school staff and the Racine American Legion and Southern Elementary students. The program will move inside for a more formal program and tolling of the bell for those from Meigs County that lost their lives in various wars. A community member will be honored for his service at that time.
“We will take time to honor those that have served in our armed forces,” said HS principal Daniel Otto. “And remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice. We thank you for your sacrifice and service.”
The Southern Band under the direction of Mr. Chad Dodson will also perform at the event.
