Jean halley 1Gloria Jean Halley, age 63, of Gallipolis, died Monday morning December 1, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center. Born December 27, 1950 in Huntington, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Hazel Cook Rakes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Bobby Halley, by her former husband, Cecil C. Watson, by a son in law, Douglas Cowles, by 2 brothers, Ronald and Michael Rakes, and by a granddaughter, Raven Garnes.

Jean worked as a manager of several area businesses including Super America and the Bonded Station.

She is survived by 3 children, Angela Cowles of Gallipolis, Franklin Shane Rakes of Gallipolis, and Lesta Watson Harian of South Bloomfield. 9 Grandchildren, Kristen Trout of Portland, Oregon, Megan Cowles of Kong, Alaska, Amanda Trout of Gallipolis, Jessica Cowles of Gallipolis, Olivia (Eric) Freeman of West Virginia, Victoria Cowles of Gallipolis, Michael Cowles of Texas, Devin Michael Rakes of Gallipolis, and Dakota McCarthy of Gallipolis. 1 Great Grandson, Charles David Corbitt of Gallipolis and her Life Companion, George Sansom of Gallipolis. Also surviving are 4 Step Children, William Halley of Gallipolis, Brook Watson of Phoenix, Arizona, Marion Watson Call of Marion, and Bruce Watson Call of Upper Sandusky, Ohio.

A Memorial service for Jean will be held at 4:00 PM. Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 PM. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with Jeans funeral expenses.
