Pastor Gerald H. “Gary” Warner, 71

Obit CandlePastor Gerald H. “Gary” Warner, 71, of Gallipolis, went home to be with his Lord, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence.

He was born on August 22, 1943 in Leon, West Virginia son of the late Johnny and Elvyn Hayes Warner. Gary served as Pastor of Victory Baptist Church for 25 years and retired from Shell Chemical in Apple Grove, West Virginia with 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Gary was a 1961 graduate of Pt. Pleasant High School and also a graduate of the Teays Valley Bible College.

Gary was married to Madonna “Jeannie” Whittington Warner on October 15, 1966 in Pearisburg, Virginia and she survives him in Gallipolis. He is also survived by a daughter Angel (Rob) Beller of Pickerington, Ohio and a son Pastor Dean (Jennifer) Warner of Mercerville; four grandchildren Isaac Beller, Rachael Beller , Celeste Warner, and Elijah Warner; three sisters Lucille (Don) Stewart of Leon, WV, Gail Barnett of Columbus, OH, and Karen (Dencil) Cochran of Westerville, OH. He was preceded by his parents and by four sisters Leola Walls, Arlene Barnett, Marilyn Casto, and Garnet Boswell and by one brother Carroll Warner.

Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Mercerville Baptist Church with his son, Pastor Dean Warner and grandson Elijah Warner officiating. His burial will follow in Victory Cemetery Friends may call on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 from 5-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home.
