Julia “Judy” Ann Samples Pyles, 79

Obit CandleJulia “Judy” Ann Samples Pyles, 79, of Gallipolis, was united with her Savior, Jesus Christ at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

She was born August 23, 1935, daughter of the late Benjamin and Florence Rader Samples. Judy was married to Woodrow W. Pyles on February 3, 1956 in West Virginia and he survives her.

She was a sweet, loving, self-sacrificial wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior her whole life and impacted the lives of countless family and friends. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Rodney, Ohio for 43 years.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow W. Pyles, of Gallipolis; two sons, Steve Pyles of Gallipolis and Mark Pyles and wife Valarie of Fairborn, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Jared Pyles and wife Emily of Grove City, Anna Pyles and Lauren Pyles both of Fairborn, Leslie Ball and husband Jeremy of Hurricane, WV; 3 great grandchildren, Abby, Evie and Ian Pyles of Grove City; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by brothers, William R. (Louise) Samples of Gainesville, FL, Robert H. (Jean) Samples of Satsuma, FL, David D. (Betty) Samples of Springfield, MO, Richard C. (Jonnie) Samples of Jacksonville, FL; and by one sister, Lula Mae (Charles) Donalson of Parkersburg, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Sheri Pyles, sisters, Helen (Samples) Huffman, Ruby F. Perry, Betty L. Callen and Wilma V. Price and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church of Rodney, Ohio followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. It will be officiating by her son, Mark Pyles, pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Fairborn, Ohio and Jim Lusher, pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Rodney, Ohio.

Entombment will be 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
