Julie A. (Blain) Webb
Julie A. (Blain) Webb, died peacefully with her husband by her side, Tuesday evening, February 10, 2015 in Aultman Hospital, Canton, after a brief illness.
Julie was born March 19, 1946 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to Lee Otis and Charlotte Pearson Blain. She graduated from Point Pleasant High School in the class of 1964 and attended Rio Grande College, majoring in speech and drama. She married William (Bill) Webb November 11, 1966.
Julie is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Webb; a daughter, Dr. Lee Jarrod Webb and a son, William Shannon (Margi) Webb; two granddaughters, Abby and Ashton Webb and her mother, Charlotte Blain. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, John Allen Blain.
Julie was well known in the tri-county area. She taught for a brief period in Mason County, West Virginia at Wood’s Elementary, worked for the Gallia County Board of Mental Retardation, and was instrumental in starting the school for the mentally retarded in Meig’s County. She was known as an accomplished crafter and painter for years, traveling to numerous shows including the Bob Evans Farm Festival. Julie was a successful business person as owner and operator of The Groom and Supply Shop for a long period of time and owner and operator of Aunt Clara’s Collection. She graduated from Hondros College with a degree in real estate and was a successful realtor in both Gallia and Holmes County. Recently, she worked part time for Digital Dish as an employment screener.
She was a member of The Ohio Board of Realtors, served as Democrat Central Committee Person for several years, and was an outspoken supporter of equal rights for all and human rights in general. She will be sadly missed by her husband and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with the Reverend Katharin Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 6-8:00 p.m.
