James Fredrick ‘Freddie’ Stover, age 82

Obit CandleJames Fredrick ‘Freddie’ Stover, age 82, of Gallipolis, died Monday evening June 1, 2015 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born July 13, 1932 in Gallia County. Freddie was the son of the late Joseph Raymond and Esta Marie Shaver Stover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister, Frances Marie Caldwell, a brother, George W. Stover, a brother in law, Tom Lear, a sister in law, Rose Holley, and a niece, Carla Case.

Freddie retired as the manager of the Ferrell Gas Co. In his earlier years, he drove a sales route for the Betsy Ross Bread Co., drove a truck delivering brick out of Oak Hill, and drove for a furniture and moving company. He also drove a sales route for Pepsi Cola. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, the Grande Square, square dance club, and was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association, Chapter C2.

Freddie is survived by his wife, Beatrice ‘Bea’ Lear Stover of Gallipolis, 2 brothers, Charles (Mary) Stover of Bidwell, and Ralph Lee Stover of Gallipolis, 1 sister, Barbara (Doug) Langhorne of Gallipolis, Sister in laws, Virginia Stroop of Circleville, and Linda Lear, of Bidwell, and a great niece, Cecelia Case, of Wellston, that Freddie and Bea help raise and lived with them for several years. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday June 6, 2015 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM.
