Experience the Beauty of Fall Color on a Hike This Weekend
COLUMBUS, OH – The weather and fall’s expanding palettes of color help make this the perfect time of year for hikers to get out and enjoy the colorful landscapes in Ohio’s state parks, forests and nature preserves. Peak conditions are expected across northern Ohio stretching down into the central portion of the state this coming weekend, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
“Throughout the fall season, Ohio State Parks offer a variety of organized hikes that provide an amazing perspective of the Buckeye State’s beautiful and diverse natural terrains,” said ODNR Fall Color Forester Casey Burdick. “State parks like Hocking Hills and Shawnee, as well as preserves like Conkles Hollow, are beautiful on any day, but draped in the colors of fall, these hikes are truly special.”
