image001-1Gayland Bush, 84, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2015 at Overbrook Center, Middleport, Ohio.

He was born on April 7, 1931 in West Virginia, son of the late William Everett and Maggie Virginia Black Bush. Gayland was married to Helen L. Bush on February 23, 1964 and she preceded him in death on December 20, 2015.

Gayland was retired from the Gallipolis Daily Tribune where he was a type setter. He was a 1951 Gallia Academy High School graduate and enjoyed gardening. Gayland served in the U.S. Navy from November 1958 till September 1962, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter Vicky (Mark) Sheets of Bidwell, two sons Tim Bush of Baltimore, Ohio and David (Betty) Bush of Gallipolis, grandchildren Thomas and Bryan Bush, Nicholas and Dylan Sheets, Lindsey (Jeremy) Wiggers, and David Paul Bush, great grandchildren Sydney and Easton Wiggers, three sisters Elsie Gooch of Gallipolis, Marie Pinschmidt of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Geraldine Benton of Bethel, Ohio, a sister-in-law Beatrice Bush of Gallipolis, and several nieces and nephews. Gayland was preceded in death by four brothers Lambert, Clyde, Ophie and James Bush.

Services will be 11 am Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at Willis Funeral Home. There will be a flag presentation at the graveside.
