Norman C. ‘Norm’ Snyder, age 85
Norman C. ‘Norm’ Snyder, age 85, of Gallipolis, ‘Went to be with the Lord’ on Wednesday January 6, 2015 at Holzer Medical Center. Born February 21, 1930 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was the son of the late Roy and Grace Ferguson Snyder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a daughter, Tammy Gardner, and by four brothers, Roy, George, Robert and Tom.
Norm was a United State Army Veteran, serving during the Korean conflict in Japan. He was the retired owner of the Corbin and Snyder Furniture Store. In his earlier years, he was employed by the McCall Printing Company in Dayton. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, The Gallipolis Lions Club and Gideon’s International. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his Wife: Ruth Snyder of Gallipolis; 1 Daughter Tiana (Mike) Dayton of Gallipolis; 3 Brothers: Don (Ella) Snyder of Springfield, Ohio, Clarence ‘Duke’ Snyder of Casselberry, FL, and Claude (Mary) Snyder of Vandalia, Ohio; 1 Sister: Patricia Allison of Wellsville, Ohio; 1 Sister-in-Law, Kay Snyder of Dayton, 2 Grandchildren: Allison (Justin) Vogt and Nicholas Dayton, and by numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Sunday January 10, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Thomas and Bob Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church on Sunday from 1 PM until the time of service.
