Southeast Ohio Woodland Interest Group to sponsor tree farm tour

TUPPERS PLAINS – The Southeast Ohio Woodland Interest Group (SEOWIG) will host a tour of Dave and Pam Schatz’ Tree Farm located three miles from Tuppers Plains, Meigs County, Ohio, on Saturday, June 25, 2016. The tour will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will last about two hours.

Dave is a retired ODNR service forester and long time SEOWIG member. Foresters Dave Schatz, Perry Brannan, and Cameron Bushong will guide us along trails so we can see the results of eighteen years of good woodland management. Topics covered will include habitat management, forest health, thinning, harvesting methods for forest regeneration, and trail establishment and maintenance.
