Isobel Danner Sheets, 100

Isobel Danner Sheets, 100, went home to be with the Lord peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 11, 2016. She was born February 7, 1916 to the late James Arch and the late Hattie Danner in the Northup community.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite past-times included vegetable gardening, quilting, sewing, craft making, cooking and candy making and she loved flower gardening. Everyone loved her Christmas candies and homemade rolls and noodles. She retired from the Gallipolis State Institute as an LPN in 1982 after 25 years of service and she was a member of the First Church of God in Gallipolis.

She was married to Melvin Sheets on March 27, 1937 who preceded her in death on April 6, 1999. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Walter Danner and three sisters, Shirley Boster, Miriam Pursley and Bonnie Hutton.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Crystal) Sheets of Gallipolis, daughters, Carolyn (Marion) Caldwell of Gallipolis, and Sharon Oliver (Jeff Steele) of Union, KY, six grandchildren; Randall Caldwell, Gary Caldwell (Sarah Pauley), Alan (Tami) Sheets, Leesa (Keith) Clark, Vanessa (Greg) Means, and John Oliver III. Nine great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren along with many special nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis. Pastor Paul Voss and Rev. Jim Chapman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Randall Caldwell, Gary Caldwell, Chase Caldwell, Alan Sheets, Cody Sheets, Dustin Sheets and Darren Clark will serve as casketbearers.
