National Weather Service advises stormy Independence Day likely

MEIGS COUNTY – Rain and thunderstorms may hamper Independence Day celebrations according to the National Weather Service.
The N.W.S. has issues a hazardous weather outlook statement for Meigs County through Monday evening. The possibility of flash flooding will remain for the area as well.
Sunday, July 3, forecast involves a chance of sprinkles before 7 a.m., then a chance of showers after noon. It will be cloudy, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Sunday night showers likely, mainly after 5 a.m. and the rain could be heavy at times. Cloudy, with a low around 63. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Monday, July 4, will bring Independence Day showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 a.m., then showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 79. East wind 5 to 8 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
