Lights, Camera, Save! Video contest underway
Ohio Valley Bank accepting entries through Dec. 1
GALLIPOLIS — Ohio Valley Bank announces the Lights, Camera, Save! video contest for students. The contest, organized by the American Bankers Association Foundation, is a national, bank-driven competition that encourages teens to use video to communicate the value of saving and inspire others to become lifelong savers. Ohio Valley Bank will be hosting a regional competition. OVB’s regional winner will move on to compete in the national competition hosted by the American Bankers Association Foundation.
“I can’t wait to see the creativity of our youth. We will surely have a difficult choice in deciding who will represent our community at the national competition,” said Ohio Valley Bank President and CEO Tom Wiseman. “This competition is a great way for our students to showcase the knowledge gained through the bank’s BANKit!, MoneyIsland, Boot Camp, and OVB Classroom Adventures financial literacy programs.”
To participate, students (ages 13-18) must create a 90-second video on saving and using money wisely and submit a link to the video along with a completed entry form to the bank by Dec. 1, 2016
Ohio Valley Bank will host the first round of judging. The first place winner will receive a $250 cash prize. Second place will receive $100. The first place winner will also move on to represent our community on the national level for a prize up to $5,000, plus a scholarship for a teacher at their school to attend the 2017 Jump$tart National Educator Conference.
Videos will be judged on their quality, message, content and the criteria set forth by the contest’s official rules.
This year’s national contest is generously sponsored by Discover Debit. To learn more about the contest and for the official entry form, visit www.ovbc.com/lightscamerasave.
