COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is seeking input from the public on the possibility of raising the horsepower limit on the lake.

The ODNR will host an open house to provide information and gather community comments regarding a proposed lake management plan for Forked Run State Park in Meigs County.

On Friday, November 4, there will be an open house from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Tuppers Plains-Chester Water District Office located at 39561 Bar 30 Road, Reedsville, Ohio. The event is hosted by the ODNR Division of Parks and Watercraft. They are seeking input regarding a proposal that would allow watercraft powered by more than 10 horsepower to access the lake, provided the watercraft is only operated at idle speed.

Public comments and recommendations, along with public safety, recreational opportunities, regional economics and environmental factors, are key components considered during the development of a lake management plan. The open house will include information about the regulatory process. This forum will provide lake users and area residents with the opportunity to submit written comments, ask questions and discuss lake issues with representatives from ODNR. All interested individuals are invited to attend this meeting.
