John Edward Blake, 84

John Edward Blake, 84, of Middleport, Ohio passed away on November 30, 2016. He was born on September 18, 1932 in Hurricane, West Virginia son of the late John and Venus Blake.

John was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in Hurricane. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He was a retired furnace operator from Kaiser Aluminum.

He is survived by: his children, John (Tammy) Blake of Rockport, Indiana, David (Tammy) Blake of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Charles (Barb) Blake of Freedom, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sisters, Jeannine Broyles and Donna Sue Blake; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Bell Blake; his daughter, Tamara Fredonna Blake; and his sisters, Geneva Blake, Doris Blake and Betty Bias.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Park. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Middleport, Ohio and from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Allen Funeral Home in Hurricane and one hour prior to the services on Monday.
