Senator Brown convenes roundtable discussion on jobs

RIO GRANDE – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) hosted a job training roundtable at the University of Rio Grande Friday.

The roundtable highlighted Digital Works, a job training program based in Gallipolis, and its efforts in to increase job opportunities for Gallia County. Participants included individuals who have completed job training at Digital Works, as well as faculty and staff from Digital Works and the University of Rio Grande.

“Local roundtables are an opportunity to learn about the needs of each of Ohio’s counties by talking to local leaders and community members,” said Brown. “We had a productive discussion today in Gallia County about how to spur investment, grow the local economy, and create jobs.”

According to Sen. Brown’s office, he has held more than 200 roundtable listening sessions across Ohio’s 88 counties. He has held the roundtable sessions with students, local leaders, business owners, educators, workers, and families to find ways to rebuild and strengthen the economy, according to his office.
