Stabbing reported in Minersville, suspect in custody
MINERSVILLE – A man was stabbed January 6, 2017, according to the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 124 in Minersville in reference to a reported stabbing. Deputy Chris Jones arrived on scene and contacted the victim. According to the report, the victim had a knife wound to his face. The victim was being transported by squad the Holzer Meigs ER.
Deputy Jones spoke to a witness at the scene who advised the alleged suspect, Justin Middleswart, 38, from Portland, Ohio had stabbed the victim in the face then left the scene in a gold Buick.
After checking several locations that deputies were advised where Middleswart may have been. Middleswart was located and taken into custody at a residence on Baldknob-Stiversville Road by Sheriff Keith O. Wood, Deputy Jones, and Deputy Leif Babb. Middleswart is currently in jail awaiting a court appearance for arraignment.
No condition was given on the victim following transportation to the emergency room.
