Rex Allan Darst, 61

Rex Allan Darst, 61, of Syracuse, Ohio passed away on January 15, 2017. He was born on August 7, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio son of the late Budd Junior Darst and Pauline Sayre Snowden.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Brenda Kay Darst of Syracuse; son, Mark Haley Jr.; daughter, Angelica Knapp (Matthew Eblin) of Long Bottom, Ohio; special nephew, Steven Lynn Darst of Mason, WV; sisters, Ellen (Robert) McClure of Pomeroy and Patricia (Rick) Booth of Zalesky, Ohio; brother, Steven Sayre of Rutland; sisters-in-law, Diana Boyd of Middleport, Sharon (Randy) Albright of West Columbia, West Virginia and Marsha (Timothy) Kearns of Long Bottom; brother-in-law, Clifford (Diane) Murray of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Dalton, Daylen, Mariah and Zachary; great grandchildren, Audrianna, Landen and Winter; special friends, Vincent and Louise Laudermilt of Middleport and Mark VanMeter of Mason, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and special dog, Shy Baby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Lonnie Darst.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the Anderson McDaniel Funeral Home in Pomeroy with Pastor Hershel White officiating. Burial will follow at Meigs Memory Gardens. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
