Rio Business School re-accredited
The University of Rio Grande’s Emerson E. Evans School of Business, located in Bob Evans Farms Hall, has received its reaffirmation of accreditation by the IACBE for its dedication to student success.
RIO GRANDE, Ohio – The Emerson E. Evans School of Business at the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College has received reaffirmation of accreditation by the Board of Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). Jason Winters, faculty co-chair of the Emerson E. Evans School of Business, said he is proud of the faculty and staff of the school of business in providing students with a high-quality education.
“I’m thankful for the hard work and dedication my co-chair Alan Cook put into preparing for our reaffirmation. There were a lot of hours invested in writing our self-study and to prepare for the accreditation team’s site visit,” Winters said. “In addition to Alan, every faculty and staff member in the school of business dedicated a lot of time to making sure the information for the reaffirmation application was correct and all of the objectives required by both our state institutions and the IABCE were being supported in the classroom. I’m very proud of the school of business faculty and staff and grateful for everything they have done throughout this process.”
The IACBE, founded in 1997, is the leading organization in mission-driven and outcomes-based programmatic accreditation in business and management education at institutions throughout the world and has accredited over 1,400 business and business-related programs worldwide. The organization chose to reaffirm the Emerson E. Evans School of Business’s accreditation because of its dedication to student success.
“The Emerson E. Evans School of Business has demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education, and advancing academic quality in its business programs and operations,” according to a statement from the IABCE.
Alan Cook, co-chair of the Emerson E. Evans School of Business, said he was thrilled to receive the reaffirmation because he feels it is a testament to the faculty and staff’s efforts in the classroom.”
“I was very excited to receive our reaffirmation because it means we are providing a quality education to students, which is the most important part,” Cook said. “I’m so proud of our staff and faculty for the work they put into our program to ensure our students’ success.”
Rio received its original accreditation in 2006. Cook said the IACBE has modified its standards within the past decade, which the school took as an opportunity to continue its initiative to create a cutting-edge program with quality education.
“We started the process several years ago to make sure our programs were aligned with the newer standards. It’s so important to us to make sure our learning outcomes for students reflect the standards for quality education on a national level,” Cook said. “Our goal is to offer the best programs possible in order to prepare our students for a path of success.”
