Helen Marie Rocchi, 89, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday morning April 25, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington. Born June 21, 1927 in Springfield, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Raphael and Hazel Bainter Lawless.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her father and mother in law, Astolfo and Lilia Rocchi, by two brothers, Don and Joe Lawless, by two sisters and brother in laws, Mary Alice and Warren Skidmore, and Marge and Kenny Stevens, two brother in laws, Robert and Lido Rocchi, and by a beloved grandson, Tony Rocchi.

Helen is survived by her husband, Remo Rocchi who she married on January 12, 1948 along with 10 children, Charlene (Terry) Ward, Tim (Donna) Rocchi, Sandi Darnbrough, Keith (Sharon) Rocchi, Lil Babbitt, Theresa (Kenny) Chojnacki, Mario (Kim) Rocchi, Jeff (Jolene) Rocchi, Robbie (Shari) Rocchi, and John (Bobbie) Rocchi, 14 grandchildren, Michael Ward, Angie Smith, Gwynne Darnbrough, Joey Darnbrough, Patrick Rocchi, Cara Mounts, Nicholas Rocchi, Krista Rocchi, Brandon Rocchi, James Heady, Broc Rocchi, Brandy Davis, Brant Rocchi, Megan Fraley, and Ryan Clary, and 14 great grandchildren.

Helen and her husband Remo operated Remo’s Hotdog Shop for many years. She always lived her life at the foot of the Cross and always put her family first. She and Remo always enjoyed their Italian and Irish rivalry.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday April 28, 2017 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Monsignor William Myers officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be: Mario Rocchi, Jeff Rocchi, Robbie Rocchi, John Rocchi, Joey Darnbrough, Brandon Rocchi, Michael Ward and Nicholas Rocchi.
