Two wanted, convicted for abuse of infant in Athens County

ATHENS, Ohio – Law enforcement in Athens County is looking for a couple wanted for injuring their baby.

Kayla Ann Fannon, 26, and Samuel A. Thompson, 31, both of Nelsonville, Ohio have been convicted on two felony counts of endangering children and and one count of permitting child abuse. Their infant was admitted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in the spring of 2014 with multiple fractures including to the baby girl’s ribs, legs, fingers, arms, toes, shoulders and to the child’s skull. The infant had “significant brain injury” as well.

Fannon and Thompson were convicted on the charges, but failed to appear. The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone seeing either of the two notify law enforcement.

Fannon is described as 5’3”, weighing 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Thompson is described as 6’1”, weighing 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
