Two fire departments respond to fire on Tornado Road
RACINE, Ohio – Firefighters responded to a fire at a residence on Tornado Road just outside of the Village of Racine.
The fire on June 27, 2017 occurred in an outbuilding next a home. Two vehicles sustained damage that had been parked near the outbuilding. The building itself sustained heavy damage. When firefighters arrived flames were visibly coming from the small structure.
According to the Racine Fire Department, their department responded 17 firefighters and three trucks. Syracuse Fire Department also responded with eight firefighters and one truck. Meigs EMS was also on the scene with Medic 2. The Meigs County Sheriff’s Office with two deputies. The deputies closed the road down while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. An AEP crew was also on scene.
The cause of the fire was undetermined. Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours.
