Fatal Fire Victim Name Released
POMEROY, Ohio – The identity of the man that died in a fire on State Route 325 has been released.
According to Meigs County Sheriff Keith Wood, Oscar Dale Wilson, 61, was the man that died in the camper fire. According to the coroners report from Montgomery County said Wilson died as a result of smoke inhalation. Sheriff Wood said the State Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire. Several electric heaters were found which may have been the cause of the fire.
The call came in around 5:44 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2018 of a fire on State Route 325 and approximately one mile west of State Route 124. Salem Township Fire Department along with Rutland Fire Department and the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Meigs EMS also responded to the scene.
Sheriff Wood said the fire and death was not suspicious.
