POMEROY, Ohio – The Pomeroy Police Department has released information on a recent arrest.

On June 11, 2018 officers responded to a call at 1:03 p.m. that Thurien Carter, 32, of Pomeroy was wanted on a bench wanted and was traveling in a red pickup on Spring Avenue. The vehicle was spotted by police on Second Street where Carter was arrested on the warrant by Chief Mark Proffitt and Lt. Alicia Smith. According to the statement from Chief Proffitt, Carter was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, a felony of the fifth degree, and possession of drug instruments, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Carter was seen in Pomeroy Mayor’s Court and is scheduled to appear on the drug related charges on June 14, 2018 at 9 a.m.
