MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – Once again the county will celebrate Independence Day with events and fireworks around the county.

Racine will observe celebrating the nation’s Independence Day on July 4, 2018 and will start things off with the parade line-up starting at 9 a.m. at the Southern High School parking lot. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. At 11 a.m. the Racine Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary will begin serving BBQ chicken and homemade ice cream. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. at Star Mill Park.

Also on July 4, Middleport will begin their celebration of America’s Independence Day with DJ Kip Grueser from 4:15-7:45 p.m. The parade line-up will be beside Dairy Queen and down Front Street starting at 5:30 p.m. The flag raising will immediately follow led by Middleport Feeney Bennett Post 128. Remember Then will preform from 7:45-9:45 p.m. and fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. The celebration and fireworks are sponsored by the Middleport Community Association, the Village of Mason and through donations of many local businesses and individuals.

The Rutland Independence Day Celebration, Ox-Roast, parade and fireworks will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018. The annual event sponsored by the Rutland Volunteer Fire Department will begin with the parade line-up at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 11 a.m. From there the celebration continues all day long in the Rutland Fireman’s Park with entertainment, vendors, food, games, and as always, Rutland Fire Department’s famous roast beef. Fireworks conclude the celebration at 11 p.m.
