Search stops for missing man
ATHENS, Ohio – The search for a man that went missing in the Hocking River has stopped.
According to a statement from the Athens Emergency Management Agency, the Athens Fire Department has stopped all search operations for a missing man in the Hocking River. Search crews have searched approximately two miles of the river using sonar, search dogs, and rescue divers without any sign of the missing man. Search efforts began Saturday June 23, 2018 at approximately 8 p.m. when it was reported the man jumped into the Hocking River near Whites Mill at 2 Whites Mill Drive in the City of Athens. The missing person is described as a 29-year-old white male, wearing black shorts and no shirt or shoes.
