Rep. Edwards announces $20,000 corporate donation to fire department
NELSONVILLE, Ohio – State Representative Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) announced that TransCanada will join him in presenting a $20,000 donation to the York Township Fire Department.
Representative Edwards, along with York Township Trustee Scott Mcmanus, have worked closely with TransCanada in order to secure a $20,000 donation that will be used to build a new single-bay fire station in Buchtel, Ohio; which does not have a station currently.
“I am glad to have worked closely with TransCanada in securing this donation for the firefighters, they do so much for our communities” Edwards said. “I want to thank my friend Scott Mcmanus for his work and TransCanada for their commitment to York Township”.
“With TransCanada’s donation, this is happening a lot faster than it would have without their generosity” Mcmanus said. “The benefit to Buchtel will be tremendous”.
The donation will be used to construct a 16×36 building, pour a concrete floor, and install a small furnace. The small furnace will be essential in preventing the water on the fire trucks from freezing. This project will enable the fire station to cut down on response times in our community.
The event will take place on Thursday, June 28, 2018 12:30 p.m. at York Township fire station. Anyone is welcome to attend.
