MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio – With Thanksgiving over, it is time for the annual Christmas celebration throughout the county.

Pomeroy
On Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 participating shops will be open from noon until 4 p.m. Parade line-up will begin at the ballfields at 1 p.m. with the parade to follow at 2 p.m. down Main Street. The Community Band will also be performing at 1:30 p.m. After the parade, Santa Claus will be at People’s Bank.

Middleport
Christmas celebration will be on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the Christmas Market at the Riverbend Arts Council Building. Free carriage rides will once again be available from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Community Band will be in concert at 4 p.m. with the parade following at 4:30 p.m. Lineup will begin for the parade at Dairy Queen at 4 p.m. After the parade Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Riverbend Arts Council Building.

Reedsville
On Dec. 2, the parade will begin at 2 p.m. Following the parade there will be refreshments and hot chocolate at the Reedsville Fire Station. At 6:30 p.m. the Christmas Tree Lighting will be at the Belleville Locks and Dam along with Santa Claus and treats for the children.

Racine
The Racine Fire Department will be hosting Breakfast with Santa on Sat. Dec. 8 at the fire station Racine will be holding a “Tree-mendous” event in what is hoped to become an annual celebration later that day with a parade and tree lighting ceremony. The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. The festivities will be in Star Mill Park and in addition to the parade and tree lighting, there will be a bake-off, story time, hot chocolate, wish lanterns, Christmas card exchange and of course, Santa Claus.
