Southeastern Ohio ODOT crews prepare to battle snow and ice
MARIETTA, Ohio – Crews in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 10 are prepared for the snow predicted for the weekend.
During the day Friday, crews filled dump trucks with salt, hooked plows up to the trucks and ensured all equipment is fueled up and ready for the road. Crews are reporting to work as early as 5 a.m. Saturday.
Drivers are reminded to give themselves plenty of time to get where they going if they do venture out this weekend.
They are also reminded not to “crowd the plow”. Snow plow trucks travel below the posted speed limit, and the plow may cross the centerline and shoulder.
District 10 includes Meigs, Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Vinton and Washington Counties.
