Southeastern Ohio ODOT crews ready for possible winter storm
SOUTHEAST OHIO – With a Winter Storm Watch going into effect on Saturday, January 19, 2019 for most southeastern Ohio counties, crews in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 10 are being proactive and preparing today.
There is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations. With that in mind, crews are pre-treating roads with brine to prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement.
Crews are also filling trucks with salt and fuel and making any necessary adjustments to equipment. District 10 has nearly 34,000 tons of salt on hand and 115 trucks ready for duty.
Drivers are reminded to take it slow in ice and snow and give ODOT trucks room to work.
ODOT District 10 includes Meigs County along with Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Vinton and Washington Counties.
